Steps to solve issues while deploying services in windows 2008 for the first time:
1.) After creating virtual directory and hosting, enable directory browsing option
2.) Set Mimetype --> .svc application/octetstream
3.) a. Cd %systemRoot%\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation\
b. ServiceModelReg.exe -i
c. ServiceModelReg.exe -r
4. )Open firewall ports
